Tweet this quote.Italicizing ballet terms because they’re French? Oh no, you don’t! Today, in my Canadian, Eh? column at Copyediting.com.

A colleague was asking specifically about italicizing ballet terms since they are foreign. Well, they’re “not English.” French isn’t exactly a foreign language in Canada. In a synergistic twist, our very own Canadian Word Lady is also a devote of the ballet. She quickly set us straight.
